Get the Materials You Need

Monroe Concrete has an extensive inventory of coarse and fine aggregates, screenings, and local recycled materials. Most of our materials are in stock and ready to be delivered throughout the Florida Keys.

Sand

  • Silica Sand

Our industrial sand is the primary structural component in a wide variety of building and construction products. Whole grain silica is used in flooring compounds, mortars, specialty cement, stucco, roofing shingles, skid-resistant surfaces, and asphalt mixtures to provide packing density and flexural strength without adversely affecting the chemical properties of the binding system.

  • Mason Sand

Mason sand is often referred to as all-purpose sand, as it has many different functions and capabilities. Mason sand is fine-graded sand that can be used as a fill material, paver base, beach sand, sandbox material, and leveling agent. Shoreline’s mason sand is clean, washed, and free of any debris or contamination.

  • FDEP-Approved Beach Sand

Generally, beach-compatible fill material will be predominantly quartz sand of a mean grain size diameter between 0.20mm and 0.45mm, with a moist Munsell color value/chroma of 7/1 or lighter. We provide beach sand from all FDEP-approved sources.

  • 50/50 Blended Mix

A blend of topsoil and sand that is an excellent base for laying sod and other landscaping.

  • Topsoil

Topsoil is the upper, outermost layer of soil, usually the top 5-to-10 inches. It is composed of mineral particles, organic matter, water, and air and contains the highest concentration of organic matter and microorganisms.

  • Local Sand

Local sand is a byproduct of Charley Toppino & Sons’ recycled concrete, rock, and dirt. Local sand has many diverse uses and is an affordable alternative to other types of sand.

Fill

  • Crushed Concrete Fill

Crushed concrete is ideal for construction projects and can be used as an alternative to gravel. It is also approved by FDOT to use as a subbase.

  • Blended Asphalt Fill

Blended reclaimed asphalt pavement can be mixed with conventional earth fill materials or crushed aggregates and used in embankment construction.

  • Recycled Fill

Recycled fill is a recycled by-product of crushed bricks, tiles, concrete, etc. Since it compacts well, it is suitable for use as a base for concrete, paving, and paths.

  • Asphalt Millings

Asphalt millings are ground-up, recycled asphalt. Once asphalt is no longer suitable for use, the product is removed, crushed, and redistributed into millings. Millings have many of the same characteristics as other paving materials like gravel with different advantages.

  • Crushed Limestone

This stone measures 1/2″ or less in diameter. It contains limestone, dolomite, and sandstone and is commonly used as a base material for driveways, roadways, and foundations.

Rock

  • Limestone Boulders

Ranging in size from 1-3 feet, rip rap is used for erosion control along sea walls, bridge abutments, pilings, and many other low-lying shoreline structures. Limestone boulders can be used in many landscaping applications.

  • Recycled Rock

Monroe Concrete also sells recycled versions of #89, #57, and #4 rock. It is made of gravel, crushed concrete, limestone, and sandstone. Because it is recycled material, it may contain small amounts of asphalt.

  • #4 Stone

#4 stone is a sound, solid, naturally occurring material. #4 stone aggregates may contain gravel, limestone, and sandstone. #4 stone is 1 1/2 inch to 2 inches in size. It is commonly used for erosion control, as a heavy drainage material, as a stabilizer, or for landscaping.

  • #89 Stone

#89 stone, also referred to as “pea rock,” is a sound, solid, naturally occurring material. #89 stone aggregates may contain gravel, limestone, and sandstone. #89 is 3/8 inch or less in size.

  • #57 Stone

#57 stone is a sound, solid, naturally occurring material. #57 stone aggregates may contain gravel, limestone, and sandstone. #57 stone is 3/4 inch to 1 ½ inch in size. It is commonly used as a base for driveways, walls, pipe bedding, and concrete.
